The Finance Management Rotation (FMR) program is a three-year leadership development program structured to kick-start your career in Finance. Throughout the three years, you will experience three twelve-month rotations. These rotations span across all divisions of UPMC including: Corporate Services, Health Services (hospital and physician), and Insurance Services. During the program, there is high-level exposure to all our executives, including UPMC’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Rob DeMichiei. Upon completion of the program, graduates are highly sought after for complex roles across the organization, and many graduates are currently in impressive leadership roles within UPMC.


Along with countless networking opportunities throughout the program, FMRs also have the opportunity to give back to the Pittsburgh community and take on leadership roles within the rotation program. This position is a full-time salaried position at UPMC (and eligible for all the fantastic UPMC employee benefits!).


  • A Bachelor’s degree at the time of the position start date is required. Students that have graduated May 2017 or have an anticipated graduation date of December 2017 or May 2018 will be considered.
  • A major in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
  • A cumulative GPA of a 3.2 or higher is required; however, a 3.4 cumulative GPA and a 3.4 major GPA is preferred. Please make sure your GPA is listed on your resume.
  • Preference will be given to candidates that have demonstrated leadership ability through their studies, employment, or extracurricular activities. 
  • Familiarity with data analytics and business intelligence tools is essential.

Recruitment Timeline Expectations*:

The Finance Management Rotation Program position will be posted from the period beginning mid-August and ending on October 1, 2017. We will be conducting video interviews throughout the application process until mid October. We anticipate conducting in-person interviews in early November with verbal offers to be extended in mid-December 2017.
