To serve as a project coordinator for the “Mood & Brain Circuitry in Adolescence” (MBA) study. 

The project coordinator position is within Dr Ladouceur’s Cognitive-Affective Neuroscience and Development (CAND) laboratory. The research program of the CAND lab focuses on the development of brain systems supporting emotion processing and regulation in typically developing children and adolescents as well as those at risk for or diagnosed with anxiety or mood disorders.  

The project coordinator will coordinate daily recruitment efforts at inpatient and outpatient clinics and will be responsible for scheduling screenings/assessments, and maintaining patient contact. He/she will supervise and assist the Research Associate with conducting clinical interviews (and administering self-/parent-reports) and administration of the neuroimaging. This person will also be responsible for extensive diagnostic and quality checking of all collected data for each participant, according to our lab’s standard procedures. Finally, this person will ensure that data is saved, backed-up, and preprocessed in a timely manner. These research activities will be supervised by Drs. Ladouceur and Diler.

  • Coordinate daily recruitment efforts (inpatient and outpatient clinics, private clinics, community) by meeting with clinical staff, adversing, building relationships in the community, etc.
  • Coordinate assessments, processing, and backing-up of data for each part of the research protocol.
  • Complete the formal diagnostic and assessment interviews required at all phases of the study including initial evaluation of child/adolescent subject and parent and follow-up assessments of all subjects. Interviews will be conducted by telephone and in person (in the lab or at participants’ home).
  • Review and code interviews conducted by other project interviewer/program coordinator in order to monitor reliability of interview materials. 
  • Supervise and assist research associates with conducting clinical and neuroimaging assessments.
  • Updating databases pertaining to NIMH recruitment milestones, subject contact, subject interviews and assessments, and issuance of subject payments.
  • Interface effectively with research and clinical staff to maintain efficient communication about data collection, data entry, quality control issues and reports.
  • Oversee modificaitons to and implementation of IRB protocol.
  • Attends and participates in all project-related meetings, including regular staff meetings, diagnostic conferences, and research team meetings.


  • Bachelors degree in psychology, sociology, business administration or related area of study and three years of relevant research and/or clinical experience is required.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or relevant field preferred.
  • Clinical psychiatric assessment experience with children, adolescents and adults strongly preferred.
  • Experience administering and scoring standard research assessments (e.g., K-SADS-PL, ALIFE, SCID, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to maintain flexible schedule required (e.g., home visits and Saturday appointments).
  • Proficiency in basic computer software packages, including MS Word and email required.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills required.

  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
