Job Summary:

UPMC Susquehanna is hiring a Supervisor, Billing Office to support the Administration Department during daylight hours on Monday through Friday. In this role, you will supervise the staff of the Billing Office of The Green Home and will assist with financial and billing inquiries and Medicare application and documentation for financial applications. You will perform a variety of clerical, reception and administrative tasks including collection of monthly payments.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervises office staff and ensures completion of their assignments.
  • Meets with residents and families to review insurance coverage and provide financial counseling. Assists residents and families with questions about account balances.
  • Completes Medicaid applications and obtains required documentation. Maintains logs of pending applications and works with Area Agency on Aging and County Assistant Office. Enrolls residents in Medicare D plan. Contacts Social Security to become representative payee for residents when requested.
  • Reviews all insurance claims over 60 days old and performs follow up to ensure payment. Prepares refunds and submits adjustments to insurances for denied charges.
  • Reviews all past due private pay accounts and follows credit and collection policy. Notifies administrator of account balances and works with collection agency and attorney on collection process.
  • Completes review of Medicare accounts and RUGS on a monthly basis. Updates billing software with RUG information. Works with therapy department and RNAC. Participates in Medicare Triple Check.
  • Performs billing of insurance claims monthly, reviews and mails private pay statements. Submits claims using SSI software.
  • Prepares Medicare non-coverage letters. Meets with residents and families to discuss Medicare coverage and to obtain signatures and maintains file of letters.
  • Reviews all Medicaid accounts, incomes and medical expenses to ensure accounts are billed correctly. Responsible for annual Medicaid audit. Submits claim adjustment as required.
  • Prepares monthly logs for accounting, prepares and submits PA Nursing Facility Assessment Report. Reviews and prepares census report. Updates and adds charges in NetSolutions.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Billing, Medical Secretary or Coding required. 
  • Five years healthcare office experience preferred. 
  • Familiar with coding and billing software systems required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Older Adult Protective Svs Act
