Job Description/Summary/Objectives: UPMC Altoona Regional Health Services, Inc. seeks a Physician-Endocrinologist in Altoona (Blair County), PA to diagnose and treat patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders. Obtain patient histories and conduct physical exams in the outpatient setting. Order and interpret results of diagnostic testing and other interventions. Order/manage medications based on patient exam, testing and therapies. Provide and coordinate patient education and lifestyle counseling. Answer inpatient consults as necessary. Serve as clinical supervisor for mid-level practitioners (PA-C/CRNP) as required from time to time. Participate in the establishment and administration of quality assurance, risk management, utilization review & peer review. Complete any and all forms and medical record documentation that may be required. Support compliance with all regulatory agencies. Other duties regarding clinical care as may be reasonably requested by employer from time-to-time.

Job Responsibilities:

Qualifications

- Must have a valid BLS certification
- Must have a Medical degree or foreign equivalent;
- Completion of residency in Internal Medicine;
- Completion of fellowship in Endocrinology;
- Must be Board certified or Board eligible in Endocrinology;
- Must have a valid unrestricted PA medical license or be eligible for licensure; and
- Must have a valid BLS certification
