Description

Purpose:
Provides nutrition-related expertise in the interdisciplinary team management of all patients and clients within a specialty area.  This position will be Monday thru Friday, standard business hours, as well as rotating weekend coverage.  This position will be located in Oakland. 

Responsibilities:
  • Accountable as nutrition liaison/expert to assigned unit responding to needs and initiatives for nutritional care process improvement.
  • Accurately assess patient's nutritional status, identify nutritional risk, develop plans of care and evaluate outcomes.
  • Consults with physician and other health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions.
  • May engage in research and teaching nutrition and diet therapy to students and hospital personnel.
  • Provides nutritional information to patients and their families in nutritional principles, dietary plans, food selection, and preparation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nutrition or Dietetics with additional advanced degree and/or specialty certifications (i.e., Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management, Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD), Board Certified as a Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition, Board Certified as Specialist in Renal Nutrition, Certified by the Board of Certified lactation Consultants, Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), and Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management.)
  • Minimum of one year specialty experience in dietetics required.
  • Acute care and/or long term care experience highly preferred. 
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist in Pennsylvania (within 6 months of hire)

  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist
  • Registered Dietician
