Description


The UPMC Construction Management Department is looking for a Financial Analyst, Intermedidate candidate to conduct and document moderate to complex financial analysis projects. The ideal candidate has a background in construction management projects and accounting. 

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze financial data and extract and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial probability.
  • Assist construction, maintenance, and Corporate Real Estate staff in project tracking and proper processing of paperwork.
  • Collect and study data to determine costs of business activities. Recommend budget adjustments, and other cost improvement measures.
  • Communicate the capital policy to construction, maintenance, and Corporate Real Estate staff throughout the system and educate as necessary.
  • Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
  • Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
  • Monitor construction contracts for compliance with the department manual (i.e. proper execution, compliance with the DBE program, and tax issues).
  • Perform moderately complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis of data reported in the various financial systems.
  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Review costs and perform cost benefit analysis related to projects and/or programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in finance or related business field required.
  • Minimum of one year of related work experience required.
  • CPA/MBA preferred. 
  • Microsoft office with emphasis on spreadsheet application required and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.
