Description

UPMC Susquehanna has a Part-time COTA Weekend position available at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center in Williamsport, PA. If you want to work weekends only, this may be the position for you!

 

Weekend Incentive Pay Rate Offered!

Work every weekend - 10 hour days

 

The COTA promotes and maintains the functional performance, physical mobility and well being of the participant through the implementation of occupational therapy services. Implements the intervention plan as established by the Occupational Therapist. Assists in development of treatment plans, carries out routine functions, directs activity programs, and documents the progress of treatments.

 

Therapy services are provided on Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities:

  • Administers treatment according to established treatment plan and procedures (i.e. range of motion, strengthening, neuromuscular facilitation, splinting, edema control, functional activities, coordination, cognitive retraining, perceptual motor training, ADLs).
  • Assists with ordering adaptive equipment and durable medical equipment.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of therapy interventions and revises plan of care due to response of participant or lack of progress in conjunction with OTR/L.
  • Instructs, or assists in instructing, patients and families in home programs, basic living skills, or the care and use of adaptive equipment.
  • Works under the direction of the Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) to plan, implement, or administer age appropriate therapy activities that restore or enhance performance in individuals with functional impairments.

Qualifications

Prior experience as a COTA preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required.

Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) required. If not currently licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, must be eligible for Pennsylvania licensure by reciprocity or licensure by examination.
