Description

UPMC Susquehanna has an Occupational Therapist Weekend Option position available in our Rehab-Neuro Department at the WRMC in Williamsport, PA. This position is eligible for a weekend incentive rate of pay!

 

Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Every Saturday & Sunday

 

Performs an assessment of the patient based on the physician or practitioner's diagnosis and instructions. Implements a treatment program specific to the patient's age and needs. Therapy services are provided on Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in supervising students, volunteers, externs and support staff and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Completes daily documentation of patient progress as required. Prepares appropriate patient status summaries at the time of discharge and assures that the report is sent to the appropriate party.
  • Informs patients as they reach the limits of third-party treatment limitations.
  • Participates in delivering educational programs to hospital staff and to client groups when requested.
  • Performs patient assessment based on physician and/or practitioners diagnosis and prescription. Develops and implements a treatment program appropriate to the patient's age.
  • Prepares appropriate patient status summaries at the time of discharge and ensures that the report is sent to the appropriate staff.
  • Provides assistance in obtaining assistive devices and durable medical supplies for patients as requested or required.
  • Receives, schedules treats and provides therapy for referred patients.

Qualifications

Bachelors in Occupational Therapy required. Masters in Occupational Therapy preferred. Prior experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Occupational Therapist licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required. National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy or eligible for certification required. Functional Independence Measure certification Required within 8 weeks of hire.

  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Functional Independence Measurement
  • National Board Certification of Occupational Therapy
