Description

Purpose:
The Broker/Producer Communications Specialist is responsible for the creation and oversight of all producer related content to support and promote UPMC Health Plan. This includes development of quarterly newsletters, ongoing broker emails, support of broker meetings and advisory councils, review of Producer Online Portal and relationship management with key stakeholders involved in the producer communications process. Creating content that is meaningful to producers who sell UPMC Health Plan products ensures that they are up to date on key product and service information, which allows them to serve their clients. Reporting to the Director, Commercial Markets, the Producer Communications Specialist serves as a key contact for sales and producer relations.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and distribute producer email alerts which often require fast turnaround to ensure timely communication in market
  • Establish communication plans to articulate deliverables
  • In conjunction with sales, monitor and update producer content on Producer Online Portal
  • Lead the development of quarterly producer newsletter by working collaboratively with team to identify relevant content and oversee end to end process
  • Manage and update broker distribution list
  • Report key communication metrics
  • Research, analyze, and adjust content based on competitive trends in the insurance and healthcare marketplace
  • Support broker meetings and advisory council content with presentation and collateral content, as needed

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree required, preferably communications.
  • Minimum of three years experience in insurance environment / communications / marketing experience.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office including: Outlook, Word, and Excel as well as Internet Explorer.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively.
  • Ability to work with various levels of staff throughout the corporation.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to supervise and direct projects as needed.
  • Strong communicator.
  • Detail oriented, team player.
  • Previous experience at a brokerage firm is preferred.
  • Previous marketing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience creating communications for various audiences is preferred.

Salary Range: $22.60 to $39.11
