UPMC Susquehanna is looking for a Casual (per diem) Diagnostic Technologist, ARRT certified, to work at our Lock Haven campus!

Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.
  • Demonstrates competency of specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro Procedures, etc.) and analyzes data promptly. Performs echocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
  • Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures.
  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
  • Performs all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I.
  • Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
  • Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.

Qualifications

Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.

Two years Diagnostic experience required.

Internal candidates must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
ARRT certified in Radiography. CPR or BLS required. Act 33, 34, 73,  CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • American Registered Radiologic Technologists
  • Basic Life Support
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
