UPMC Hamot is seeking an experienced Professional Staff Nurse, OP to help support their Lake Erie Endocrinology office. 

The RN in this position will routinely work a Monday-Friday schedule with hours varying between 7:30 A.M and 5:00 P.M, with no weekends or holidays required.

Lake Erie Endocrinology is composed of two office locations, two physicians, and three physician assistants. The Registered Nurse (RN) will primarily perform triage, medication refills, and patient education to provide the expert care patients need to keep their endocrine system functioning properly.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates UPMC Hamots commitment to Service Excellence by understanding the needs of patients, their families, physicians and co-workers and doing what is required the first time, every time by being responsible, sensitive, accurate, timely, coordinated and thorough.
• Demonstrates clincial leadership skills in daily operations and planning. Assists in the oversite of the clinical function
• Identifies and provides patient education to address problems of varying complexity.
• Identifies learning needs of staff and self; actively pursues and provides required knowledge and skill through inservices and other resources as appropriate.
• Trains and functions as a preceptor and/or resource person for clinical staff.
• Orders supplies and provides input to medical equipment purchases necessary to provide required services; coordinates the maintenance and service of all medical equipment.
• Participates in QA, QI programs and identified quality assessment indicators focusing on patient outcomes and evaluation of nursing care.
• Performs laboratory duties assuring compliance with OSHA/CLIA.
• Possesses the ability to obtain and interpret information considering age specific needs.
• Prioritizes and provides independent nursing care utilizing the nursing process and appropriate standards of care and policies/procedures.
