Purpose:

UPMC Community Medicine is currently hiring for a regular Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse, OP (LPN) to help support the Partners in Health outpatient Family Medicine office located in Murrysville, PA. 

This position will work a variable Monday through Friday daylight schedule and may float to other office locations in the area as needed.

Provide professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.

Responsibilities:
  • Triaging phone calls 
  • Nurse responsible for reviewing results from labs and facilities. Completes notification on all results either thru My UPMC, phone calls or letters. 
  • Works with patients and physicians on disease state management and patient education. 
  • Monitors Health Maintenance and assists in gap closure with the patient. 
  • Works with patient coumadin compliance and education.
  • Assists physician on patient refill requests thru MyUPMC, pharmacies, phone calls 
  • Preps all anticoagulation encounters for physicians and notification of patients. 
  • Completes all prior authorization requests as requested by patient/physician.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. 
  • One year clinical experience preferred.
  • EMR/Triage experience preferred
  • Outpatient experience preferred
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Licensed Practical Nurse
