Description

The Clinical Research Coordinator will work with physicians, nurses, other allied health professionals, and research staff to coordinate clinical research efforts provided at UPMC. This Clinical Research Coordinator will be focusing efforts on Women's Health PittNet.

Women’s Health PittNet is a practice-based research network designed to promote collaboration between practitioners and clinical investigators to improve women’s health. Our main goal is to connect women in our communities with the latest research studies to improve the health of all women. We are part of the Magee-Womens Research Institute and the University of Pittsburgh Clinical and Translational Science Institute. The Clinical Research Coordinator will be the face of the network and interact with both researchers and the clinical staff to partner in the best interest of our patients as well as be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the network.


Responsibilities:

·       He/She will work closely with researchers on their recruitment plans to ensure an integrated approach reflective of the community.

·       He/she will review protocols on behalf of researchers and provide consultations during all stages of project development.

·       He/she will also work with the clinical practices to ensure that their needs are met when assisting in research protocols. This will include regular meetings in the practices to understand their workflow.

·       The coordinator will visit with practices to understand their needs.

·       The coordinator will be responsible for day-to-day communication with all parties, overseeing the application process, approval process with the assistance of the network director.

·       The coordinator will be responsible for marketing the network to interested in researchers and practices to create a sustainable way to promote research in these practices

·       The coordinator will be responsible for all reporting to departmental and funding agencies

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience required. 
  • BSN preferred.
  • Clinical Research experience strongly preferred.
  • Organization skills, communication skills (oral and written), project management skills strongly preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 33 Child Clearance
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Registered Nurse
