Description

Purpose:
With direct oversight and direction the HR Generalist will function as a business partner providing day-to-day support to business, operations, and HR regarding the implementation of human resource initiatives and strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Under the direction of the HR Leader, provide HR consulting services by partnering with business, operational, and HR leaders of the organization to recommend solutions on employee relations, policy and procedures, engagement and retention, employee safety, and cultural improvements.
  • In support of HR team and organizational business needs, utilize HR metrics to develop and implement initiatives that positively impact the organization and the employee experience.
  • Participate on local and/or organization wide committees that focus on projects that move the organization forward and towards meeting its strategic goals.
  • Effectively communicate expectations with business, operational, and HR partners while promoting a One Team collaborative atmosphere in which all functions of HR work together as one team.
  • Drive and champion inclusion efforts and cultural improvement initiatives within the customer base.
  • Continuously hone skills and upgrade business acumen to stay abreast of industry trends. Demonstrate capabilities and professional knowledge, and the ability to assimilate new knowledge into action.
  • Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Manage expatriate destination services, including visa and work permit applications, relocation, travel arrangements, and stateside assistance.
  • Manage expatriate payroll and taxes, interfacing with internal and external agencies to process and recover payments.
  • Prepare and maintain HR documentation including, but not limited to, preparation of termination and discipline letters, and RIF documents, in compliance with UPMC policy and procedure.
  • Provide support for international projects and events as needed.
  • Provide support for international visitors including securing short and long term housing, arranging health coverage, and distributing stipends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or related field is required and entry level knowledge of federal, state and local legislation as it applies to human resources and the employment process is required.
  • One year of human resources experience or Masters Degree in Human Resources Business or related field or successful completion of the UPMC Summer Associates program/Pittsburgh Fellows program preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products required.
  • Oracle/PeopleSoft experience preferred.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
    Global Mobility Specialist Certification Preferred

Salary Range: $20.60 to $35.57
