Description

Purpose:

 

Provide structured, age-appropriate health and nutrition education and activities for youth in several locations throughout Tioga County during the summer months



Responsibilities:

 

 
 
Know and follow all organizational/departmental policies/procedures
 
Assume responsibility for personal development and education
 
Incorporate leading/evidence-based practice in quality/safety into every day work. Commit to high quality, safe work; encourage others to have similar standards. Identify processes/systems that could lead to inefficient practices, unsafe conditions, errors or adverse events. Avoid shortcuts to ensure quality and safety measures are not circumvented. Encourage patient and family involvement in processes involving patient safety. Speak up with other service partners to ensure high quality and safety. Report serious events/incidents per policy.
 
Plan weekly programs (themes); secure necessary materials and equipment
 
Lead participants in creating healthy snack options to sample and take home
 
Prepare and submit monthly program reports
 
Lead discussions on good decision-making ; model behavior
 
Assist Summer Feeding staff with distributrion of meals at program sites
 
Maintain attendance records of participants
 
Access any injuries that may occur and create a plan of care for minor injuries
 
Intervene appropriately in situations that arise among program participants.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Driver's License
  • First Aid Certification

Salary Range: $13.00 - $19.40
