Description

Purpose: Responsible for the timely assembly, final preparation and service of nutritionally-appropriate and attractive meals. Practices appropriate food handling techniques and food safety procedures in all aspects of job. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills on a consistent basis.  This position will be various hours and days, and could include weekends. 
  •  Comply with all departmental policy and procedure, including safety, personal conduct, and dress code
  • Courteously and empathetically interact with patients suffering from a range of ailments
  • In accordance with patients' respective dietary restrictions and menu orders, accurately and efficiently prepare meals for delivery at a variety of stations on the department's tray line
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Perform required sanitation of assigned areas in compliance with Department of Health guidelines
  • Serve patients their in-room meals while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor

Qualifications

  • Six months of uninterrupted employment in food service or customer service is preferred
  • Hospital/healthcare experience strongly preferred 
  • High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Ability to remain on feet for at least eight-hour periods, while preparing, delivering and serving meals throughout the facility
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to successfully fulfill the responsibilities of multiple roles within the department

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance or Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewa
