UPMC is hiring a full-time Manager, Opiate Use Disorder Services to support the Erie County SCA for participation in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) unit. This position sits within Community Care Behavioral Health (CCBH) and will work closely with the SCA as the regional hub representative.

 

 

Frequent travel within county limits will be required. Occasional attendance to regional events will also be required.

 


The Manager, Opiate Use Disorder Services serves as the regional liaison for a SAMHSA-funded project and will work as part of a larger team to identify strategies to coordinate the county-wide implementation of the integrated hub and spoke model in Erie County. The Manager assists with the identification of programmatic process improvement opportunities and facilitates cross-developmental workgroups established to improve processes. In collaboration with the Erie County Single County Authority (SCA), the Manager will ensure that project deliverables are met to address expanding access to medication-assisted treatment services for individuals with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) in Erie County.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Erie County Regional Director and Erie County SCA in maintaining a very active organizational presence in the community by attending various community-based meetings with providers, consumer and/or family groups, county representatives, and advocacy groups
  • Collaborate with Erie County SCA and spoke providers to accomplish project goals
  • Collect and share project-related data
  • Coordinate regional efforts related to OUD prevention and treatment
  • Develop and implement a regional implementation plan and budget
  • Document project implementation activities
  • Identify opportunities for expanding access to MAT services in Erie County
  • Participate actively in grant-related meetings, activities, and trainings
  • Provide day-to-day project coordination and management
  • Serve as primary liaison between Community Care and Erie County SCA and UPMC Center for High-Value Health Care
  • Support a culture of commitment to customer service (internally and externally), accountability, and public health interest
  • Work with the Community Care Regional Director, UPMC, and other Community Care staff to implement a SAMHSA-funded project in Erie County

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a field related to behavioral health or government relations with related behavioral health experience.
  • At least five (5) years of work experience as part of a collaborative community-based project required.
  • Advanced knowledge of the current public service delivery system and the population served
  • Professional experience with and knowledge of the addiction treatment field is necessary.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage projects from initiation to implementation by targeted completion dates
  • Ability to facilitate effective internal communication to ensure implementation of programmatic process improvements
  • Excellent problem-solving skills based on a comprehensive understanding of the operating practices of the organization
