Description

Purpose:
Under limited supervision, ensures safe and healthy environment for guests and employees by providing competent health and medical services in a prehospital setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Attends continuing education and refresher training programs as required by employers, medical direction, licensing or certifying agencies.
  • Ensures quality health and medical care for guests and employees at assigned locations. Maintains appropriate documentation of patient care, incident reports and other necessary reports. Encourages a safe, pleasant work environment for Team Members.
  • Ensures that the first aid room and equipment is clean and washed and kept in a neat orderly condition.
  • Identifies assessment findings, which may require communications with medical direction for advice and for notification that special professional services and assistance be immediately available upon arrival at the medical facility.
  • Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals utilizing customer service skills. Responds to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured (within PA-DOH scope of practice and PA DOH protocols). Assist in moving patients.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner.
  • Reports verbally and in writing their observation and emergency medical care of the patient at the emergency scene for purposes of records and diagnostics. Upon request, provides assistance to the transporting ambulance. Maintains first aid rooms in efficient operating condition

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Must be 18 or older Previous ambulance and/or hospital experience preferred.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull weight up to 100 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions required.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
    Current Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Technician certification. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation OR Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Act 34 Criminal Clearance Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Act 73 FBI Clearance OAPSA

  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Emergency Medical Technician or Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic
  • Older Adult Protective Services Act
