Description

Purpose:
Strategize, develop, and implement communication projects to educate and inform UPMC internal audiences. Direct communication strategies for audiences in assigned area.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement targeted communication strategies to support the organization's enterprise-wide objectives.
  • Develop methods to evaluate communications projects based on effectiveness and cost/benefits, and document the results.
  • Edit and/or write copy appropriate for the audience and the channel publications, letters, advertisements, audio/visual presentations, speeches and other communication programs.
  • Implement communication plans for programs by managing multi-faceted projects.
  • Independently advise internal clients.
  • Manage the research, writing, design and production of any materials.
  • Monitor project budgets; handle approvals and other client relations and take responsibility for accuracy and effectiveness of information communicated.
  • Prepare strategies to achieve communication goals.
  • Serve as a communications counselor (consultant) to internal UPMC clients.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in other departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, English, health sciences or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years experience in communications or related field required.
  • Project Management experience required.
  • Experience providing clients with strategic marketing counsel required.
  • Professional communication experiences a plus.
  • Experience in an academic medical center, hospital or health care industry is preferred.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills required.

Salary Range: $28.37 to $47.88
