Purpose:

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is currently hiring for Regular Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse, OP (LPN) to work with our outpatient OB/GYN Women's Health office located in New Castle, PA.

This position will work a Full Time Monday through Friday daylight schedule from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

The LPN will provide professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.

Responsibilities:
  • Triage, Rooming Patients, Vitals
  • Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
  • Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
  • Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. 
  • One (1) year clinical experience preferred/not required
  • EMR/Triage experience preferred
  • OBGYN and/or Women's health experience preferred

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Licensed Practical Nurse
