Description

UPMC Insurance Services is hiring a full-time Senior, Financial Analyst to help support the Medicare Finance department.

 

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible to assist with the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasting, complex financial analysis and financial modeling, identification of key metrics, operational/financial reporting and ad hoc requests.  The successful candidate will proactively identify and analyze key drivers and cost trends to “tell the story” through insightful analytics. This role will have the opportunity to communicate and interact with multiple departments and varying levels of UPMC personnel, including highest senior level executive management.  The candidate must be an effective team player who contributes valuable ideas and feedback and can be counted on to meet commitments.


Responsibilities:
  • Act as a mentor for Financial Analysts or administrative staff.
  • Analyze complex financial data and extract and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial probability.
  • Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
  • Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
  • Perform complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis of data reported.
  • Plan and conduct complex studies to determine cost of business activities. Recommend budget adjustments, and other cost improvement measures.
  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in finance or related business field required. Minimum of three years of related work experience required.
  • CPA/MBA preferred. 
  • Microsoft office with emphasis on spreadsheet application required and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPA/MBA preferred.
