Description

The Affective Neuroscience and Developmental Psychopathology Laboratory is focused on studying the role of reward function in the development of depression and substance use problems during adolescence. Particular emphasis is neural reward circuitry, as measured with functional magnetic resonance imaging, but this approach is grounded in the study of affective behavior, experience of positive affect, social context, and genetic characteristics. Ultimately, the goals of this research are to: elucidate the etiology and pathophysiology of mental illness and addiction, inform the development of treatments, and alleviate suffering.

 

This individual will independently execute study-related job functions involved in recruitment, retention, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone screenings and face to face interviews, entering and securing participant data, facilitating fMRI visits, and entering and processing post-visit brain imaging data. They will also communicate and collaborate with study team as well as collaborators’ labs to address challenges.

This position is grant funded.

 

Purpose:
Assist in the execution of research protocols and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s).
  • Maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required preferably in psychology or related field.
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
  • Prior related work experience in a research setting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with mental health and/or child/adolescent research is preferred.
  • Previous experience with longitudinal human subject research is preferred.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
