Description

Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a full-time Patient Information Coordinator for the CCP Mt. View location in Greesnburg. This position will also require some travel the CCP locations in Blairsville and Mt. Pleasant. The primary shift will be the daylight shift, though there will be an occasional evening and Saturday requirement as well. 

Purpose:

Functions under the general direction of department leadership in Patient Access. Coordinates patient access for all phases of the revenue cycle from scheduling and registration up to and including referral and denial management

Responsibilities:
  • * Collects and records patient payment including coinsurance, co-payment and deductibles at the time of service.
  • Confirm/verifies insurance benefits with the appropriate carrier via online verification systems or telephone inquiries.
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate and efficiently utilize all systems and office equipment.
  • Generate and complete all applicable forms and necessary communications while obtaining signature for consent to treatment and financial responsibility following the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules and regulations.
  • Interview and register patients at the time of or prior to the visit date. Obtain and update demographic, emergency contact and insurance information, including referrals/authorizations on all patients as needed.
  • Schedules appointments based on business unit requirements.

Qualifications

Completion of High School graduate or equivalent. Experience with personal computer based applications, other various office equipment and proficient typing skills. Two years experience in a medical/billing/fiscal or customer service function preferred. Medical terminology and third party health care coverage experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required. Initiative to work productively with minimal supervision. Able to work well under pressure.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
