This is a part-time, daylight position. The hours are 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The days are variable and the candidate will work rotating weekends and holidays.

 

Purpose:
Clean all aspects of assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, offices and equipment, to meet Department standards in order to promote the quality of care rendered in the environment. Move equipment, furniture, boxes, etc. and remove and hang blinds and curtains.

Responsibilities:

  • Bus tables, removing all place settings, and sanitize tables and chairs after meals.
  • Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices and equipment, following established procedures.
  • Deliver trays to residents' rooms when necessary
  • Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, report problems to the supervisor.
  • Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
  • Make beds, following established cleaning procedures in all residents' rooms.
  • Move equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets, etc. as assigned.
  • Remove trash from all assigned areas.
  • Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to assure adequate supply.
  • Report to the kitchen in serving uniform at designated time for each meal.
  • Responsible for laundering residents' linens and facility uniforms and rags on a daily basis.
  • Serve meals according to the Food Service Guidelines Manual.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma/GED or one year previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties
  • Ability to use housekeeping equipment
  • Successful completion of POWRR curriculum preferred
  • May in the course of duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Older Adult Protective Services Act
