Description

UPMC Tri Rivers is hiring a part-time Medical Records Clerk to join their team! In this position, you will work from home 4 consistant hours per day during weekday, daylight hours. This position may need to work additional hours on occasion to help support the team.

While this position is work from home, we are looking for a candidate that will be able to easily access a Tri Rivers office location between Pittsburgh and Slippery Rock if needed.

Purpose:
Under the supervision of the office manager, coordinate all clerical functions as needed to support a specialty practice. Duties include: reviewing medical records, sorting and processing documents containing patient information and accurately importing documents to the patient electronic record.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Demonstrate proper operation of the computers and EpicCare system. Performs minor maintenance.
  • Electronically indexes patient's medical information efficiently, keeping outstanding batches to a minimum and assuring no duplications of documents.
  • Files/indexes all patient information into appropriate chart.
  • Accurately sorts batches received electronically for indexing into patient's electronic charts.
  • Take the initiative to perform any task that will assist co-workers in maintaining patient flow and office operations.

 

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Independently prioritizes workload and makes appropriate adjustments to accommodate changes in priorities.
  • The ability to make independent judgments and to solve basic operational problems.
