Description
UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full-time Senior Financial Analyst/Project Accountant MWRIF to support the Finance department of Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation.
This position will work Monday – Friday, day shift. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.
Coordinate and/or complete and document both recurring and one-time special financial projects. Provide functional advice or training to less experienced accountants. Support Director and Manager in departmental financial initiatives. Requires a thorough knowledge of all financial activities of the organization including research activities, fundraising, and endowment and donor restricted fund management.
Responsibilities:
- Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Assist in the interpretation and application of updates to GAAP accounting requirements, as well as related process documentation.
- Assist in the completion of quarterly Board financial reports including variance analysis.
- Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
- Act as a mentor for senior accountants or administrative staff.
- Maintain the corporate ERP software including table maintenance, upgrade rollouts, creation and maintenance of various reporting templates and queries. Assist in maximizing use of system to ensure departmental efficiency, appropriate internal controls and regulatory compliance.
- Compile and analyze complex financial data and extract and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of reporting data internally or to external entities or recommending improvements to processes.
- Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field required.
- Minimum of three years of related work experience required.
- OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of related work experience.
- Microsoft Office spreadsheet application required, and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPA/MBA preferred.
