Description

UPMC Health Plan is hiring a full-time Clinical Engagement Coordinator to support the Clinical Training and Development department. This position will work standard daylight hours Monday through Friday and will work fully remotely. The Clinical Engagement Coordinator is responsible for planning, designing, coordinating, and delivering training for onboarding of new staff, clinical operating systems support, and ongoing training needs for new and existing employees within the UPMC Community Health Choices Program.

This position will provide support to Community Health Choices regarding clinical training and education, onboarding, and quality assurance review for Service Coordinators and related roles. The Clinical Engagement Coordinator will work closely with other clinical educators, department leadership, managers, and supervisors to ensure the quality of service coordination services and member engagement skills by clinical staff.


Responsibilities:

 

  • Create, conduct, monitor, and evaluate an on-going health coaching skills development program for case managers, health coaches, and service coordinators.
  • Provide periodic reports to department leadership on care manager, health coach, and service coordinator skills performance, establishing team benchmarks.
  • Conduct quality reviews of clinician-member interactions, provide feedback with opportunities to enhance staff skills.
  • Provide standardized, objective feedback and participate in individual and group clinician supervision and skill development activities.
  • Assist in the development of member assessments and workflows to enhance member engagement.
  • Prepare staff training materials upon request to enhance staff motivational interviewing skills and member engagement.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field required. Master's degree in psychology, health education, exercise physiology, counseling, social work, public health, nutrition, dietetics, nursing or a related field preferred.
  • Six years of experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Professional work experience in clinical practice and/or health education in a lifestyle or condition management area is required, including two years of telephone-based and onsite group counseling or health coaching.
  • Advanced education and/or nationally recognized certification in a wellness field are preferred.
  • This position requires a strong cognitive-behavioral background with a working knowledge of health behavior change theories and models (e.g. Transtheoretical Model and Motivational Interviewing).
  • Incumbent must have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Power Point and Excel is required.
