UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Coordinator of Student Recruitment-Shadyside School of Nursing

Description

Purpose:
Provides a comprehensive range of recruitment and admissions services to prospective Nursing and students for UPMC's Schools of Nursing. Manages prospective student records in accordance with School, State, and Federal regulations. Participates in internal and external recruitment events.

Responsibilities:

  • Modify and/or revise websites for all Schools of Nursing in order to increase awareness and increase student enrollment.
  • Work directly with Directors to create strategies to maintain regular contact with possible future candidates for the Schools of Nursing.
  • Attend career functions and other external recruitment events.
  • Identify problems/issues and offer solutions related to difficulties within the recruitment process that would serve to increase the student population within the Schools of Nursing.
  • Recruit RN students for the Schools of Nursing. Manage activities to include outside recruitment in high schools as well as other recruitment events to increase awareness of the Schools of Nursing and meet enrollment targets. Involvement in activities which promote the Schools of Nursing such as college fairs, open houses, and information sessions
  • Build networks to find qualified students for the Schools of Nursing.
  • Collect applicant documents and review content to ensure all required information is included in submission. Coordinate collection of outstanding applicant documentation or data. Create student files for review by Director.
  • Coordinate appointments and meet with prospective students (Shadyside only).
  • Identify resources for prospective students who need remedial work prior to and after testing process.
  • Provide monthly reports regarding recruitment and attend meetings necessary to increase the overall recruitment efforts of all the Schools of Nursing.
  • Works cooperatively with Corporate Communications to help design and plan a strategic marketing process for the Schools of Nursing.

 

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor's degree required in communication, marketing, or public relations required and 5 years of recent work experience in post-secondary student recruitment and admissions (preferably healthcare related school)
  • Computer literacy in database management, spreadsheet, and word processing
  • Knowledge of recruitment and admissions regulations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills- Able to work with a diversified student population
