Case Management/UR Specialist

This is a job share position, day shift, Monday - Friday, a minimum of 3 days per week with the opportunity for additional days.

This position has a minimum start rate of $16.04.

Purpose:
Acts as secretary for the Medical Director of Case Management and the Case Management Workgroup; Assists the Case Managers and Care Coordinators and performs all duties required by the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors inpatient and MA outpatient cases to assure timely authorization as well as monitoring the OR schedule to assist in the elective precertification process.
  • Maintaining and organizing data on cases requiring in-house authorization.
  • Maintains detailed filing system according to payor source.
  • Completes reports required by Quality Insights of PA and Medical Assistance including HNN reporting.
  • Functions in duties of Secretary to Director in secretary's absence.
  • Functions as secretary to case managers and care coordinators; prepares worksheets to facilitate UR review activities.
  • Monitors daily ADT reports working in conjunction with the Medical Record Department to preserve statistical accuracy.
  • Data entry, filing, and extensive communication regarding audits.
  • Functions as secretary to the hospital Case Management Workgroup including scheduling meetings and recording minutes

 

Qualifications

Education and Formal Training Required:

Post-high school education required in medical secretarial school or acceptable related field.

Associate's Degree preferred.

Experience Required:

Typing 50 WPM is preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
