Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail to the correct department, resident, or staff member in an accurate and timely manner.
- Direct complaints to the appropriate department or staff.
- Must remain flexible in work schedule (overtime, evenings, holidays, etc.).
- Follow Resident's Rights policies at all times.
- Assist Dietary Department with sorting of residents' menus for next-day meals.
- Screen all individuals coming into the facility and exercises good judgment in granting entrance.
- Work cooperatively with all facility staff.
- Handle emergency situations in a calm, effective manner.
- Receive and respond courteously and appropriately to all inquiries made.
- Attend all mandatory educational offerings.
- Maintain up-to-date emergency reference, key staff, and medical staff telephone listing.
- Answer incoming telephone calls on a multi-line telephone system.
- Answer all inquiries according to facility policies and procedures, seeking direction as needed.
- Refile business office files in the manner prescribed and when directed.
- Enforce visitation policies and procedures.
- Input initial resident admission data producing face sheet, armband, and identification card.
- Respond to written requests for information in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Screen and direct all incoming calls in a courteous efficient manner to the proper department or staff member.
- Interact with residents and residents' representatives and directs them to the appropriate department or staff.
Qualifications
Completion of High school diploma or equivalent, superior interpersonal skills required.
