Description

UPMC Altoona is hiring a casual Registered Nurse to help support 5F Med/Surg/Pediatrics!  Shifts for this position will be varied.

*This position has a set pay rate of $30.00/hour*

 

About 5F – Med/Surg/Peds:

12 beds - medical/surgical/pediatric/bariatric unit.  Our nurses are required to obtain pediatric advanced life support within one year of hire. Nurses should join our team due to the complexity of patients and the close-knit staff that work as a team.  Leadership takes time with staff to meet their needs and help them develop their career path along the way.  

 

Purpose:

  • Provides direct and indirect care to patients utilizing the nursing process. Provides leadership for the nursing team, and contributes to the education of a variety of members of the staff and students.


Responsibilities:

 

  • Document/records appropriate information required in performance of responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to adapt to clinical treatment and instructional aspect of care to all stages of the life cycle and to various states of health and disease.
  • General nursing ability.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
