UPMC Health Plan is hiring a full-time Remote Clinical Engagement Coordinator to support the Clinical Training and Education Department for its downtown Pittsburgh location at the US Steel Tower. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned clinical trainer to support the Health Coach Academy by UPMC, Motivational Interviewing training, onboarding, systems training, and competency and skills development for clinicians delivering care management services to UPMC Health Plan members. 

The ideal candidate will be experienced in the use of technology to plan and deliver high-quality clinical education and training presentations. Experience in a person-centered approach to care, member engagement strategies, skills building, and clinical competency development a plus. 



  • Create, conduct, monitor, and evaluate onboarding, systems training, and on-going skills development for care
     management staff 
  • Collaborate across teams to process, plan, and deliver customized training requests to address learning gaps 
  • Assist in the development of member assessments and workflows to enhance member engagement 
  • Share monthly training data and outcomes with leadership 
  • Prepare staff training materials upon request to enhance staff motivational interviewing skills and member engagement 



  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field required.
  • Master's degree in psychology, health education, exercise physiology, counseling, social work, public health, nutrition, dietetics, nursing or a related field preferred.
  • Six years of experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Advanced education and/or nationally recognized certification in a wellness field are preferred.
  • This position requires a strong cognitive-behavioral background with a working knowledge of health behavior change theories and models (e.g. Transtheoretical Model and Motivational Interviewing).
  • Professional work experience in clinical practice and/or health education in a lifestyle or condition management area is required, including two years of telephone-based and onsite group counseling or health coaching.
  • Incumbent must have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Power Point and Excel is required.
