UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Sr. Practice Manager

Description

UPMC Horizon - Shenango Valley is hiring a Senior Practice Manager to join the Chronic Pain Management Team! This full-time role will work day-based hours Monday through Friday. Travel to UPMC Horizon - Greenville, UPMC Horizon - Shenango Valley, and UPMC Jameson is required. Duties include the daily management of operational needs, including staffing and workflow , as well as implementation of system-wide initiatives while collaborating with the service line to increase growth. Dynamic candidates with strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills are encouraged to apply. 

Purpose:
Manage all operational aspects of the practice sites to ensure quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor practice operations to identify areas for improvement, expansion of services, and potential new market areas.
  • Develop strategic plans for practices.
  • Serve as liaison to various UPMC departments and resources.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, physicians and peers through oral and written communications.
  • Ensure compliance with all UPMC policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and meet practice specific benchmarks inclusive of point of service and scheduling (inclusive of template management for timely patient access), if applicable.
  • Serve as liaison for renovations, construction and building utilization with UPMC and outside construction services.
  • Review and evaluate the effectiveness of current procedures and plans with Office/Practice Manager and Physician to develop and implement new, more efficient systems and procedures as required to improve office operations.
  • Assist in physician relations as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain a patient-centric culture, centered around patient arrival and follow up activities in line with the consumerism initiatives, if applicable.
  • Supervise and oversee practice budgets.
  • Maintain knowledge initiatives as it relates to the operation of the practices.
  • Assist in the due diligence, practice valuations, contract negotiations and staffing as required.
  • Oversee and assist in the recruitment of staff and new practices.
  • Ensure appropriate and high quality staffing through the strategic placement of office coordinators, office and practice managers.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in health or business administration and three years of office management experience including one year in a health care organization. OR Master's Degree in health or business administration and 1 year of office management experience including one year in a health care organization. OR Associate's Degree in health or business administration and 8 years of office management experience including one year in a health care organization. OR High School Diploma and 8 years of office management experience including one year in a health care organization .
