UPMC's Frederick Primary Care is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for its two offices in Fredericksburg and Jonestown. The offices are located 3 miles apart and position coverage would be at both offices. If you are looking for a position with a better work life balance, this is the position for you. NO EVENINGS! NO HOLIDAYS!

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Primarily Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4:30PM, every 6th Saturday rotation. Saturday shift is 7:45am-12pm only! 

Responsibilities:

  • The LPN provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers
  • Room patients, assess patient's general condition, take vital signs and weight.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  • Draw blood as ordered
  • Give immunizations, perform EKG's, UA's, and on occasion give IV fluids to patients
  • Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
  • Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV
  • Comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
  • Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
  • Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
  • One year clinical experience preferred, but not required
  • New grads welcome to apply

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

Clearances must be dated within 90 days

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
