Are you an RN in the Harrisburg area looking for a better work/life balance? UPMC Children and Teen Center is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their busy Pediatric office with 17 exam rooms and 5-6 providers/day. At the Children & Teen Center in Central PA, we provide comprehensive high-quality care to children and adolescents from birth to age 18. Staff is trained to treat children of all ages. Hours: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm. NO WEEKENDS. NO HOLIDAYS. NO ON-CALL.
Responsibilities:
- Work in the triage office taking calls and giving advice if needed.
- Schedules patients to see provider.
- Oversees the MA staff and assists when needed.
- Manages a large chronic care patient panel.
- Providers support to provider team and other staff.
- Supports the development of students, new staff and colleagues.
- Practices solid communication skills
- Takes personal responsibility in improving patient satisfaction with the quality of care and service.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.
- Demonstrates knowledge of adult learning principles (and/or teaching children if applicable) and applies in teaching of patients, families, students, and new staff.
- Creates an environment of open dialogue, inquiry, and continuous development by asking for feedback and improving practice.
- Formulates goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as partner and considers the individual needs of the patient in a holistic manner.
- Demonstrates critical thinking in the identification of clinical, social, safety, psychological and spiritual issues for the patient care within an episode of care.
- Patient documentation is comprehensive and promotes communication between caregivers. Incorporates national professional organization as well as business unit and health system's goals to improve patient safety, quality and satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Minimum six months experience preferred, but not required
- BSN preferred, but not required
Certifications, and Clearances:
Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state.
CPR Certification, UPMC approved national certification preferred. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Registered Nurse (RN) OR Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)
- Act 31 with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
