UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

The Sr. Recruiter is a regular, full-time position that primarily works daylight hours, Monday through Friday.  A perk of this position includes flexible work arrangements in a hybrid work setting!

The Sr. Recruiter will help support full-cycle, inpatient nursing and nursing leadership recruitment efforts for UPMC Passavant.  Responsibilities may include assisting and leading the development, implementation and management of recruiting strategies, including recruitment areas of high need and hard to fill positions. The Sr Recruiter will work to create, develop and manage diverse proactive pipelines of recruitment talent through strategic sourcing and networking. They will work with operational, clinical and business unit HR staff to understand their needs and to assist them in interviewing and hiring of qualified candidates. Additionally, the Sr Recruiter will act as an internal recruitment solution for the organization, helping find applicants for hard to fill positions.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality of all information received within the guidelines of professional recruitment in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Comply, analyze and prepare reports on the computer and works on special projects as requested.
  • Advise on and coordinate targeted recruitment events.
  • Function as an internal search firm recruiter by performing specific recruitment searches as necessary.
  • Serve as the primary employment consultant for designated departments. 
  • Realistically describe to applicants the responsibilities of any appropriate position
  • Choose the most qualified candidates to refer to departments based upon documented objective criteria consistent with the legal requirements, job description, qualifications, and business unit policies in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate job posting system.
  • Confirm job requirements on recruitment request form with those on the approved job description to assure correct requirements are posted.
  • Conduct employment screening interviews for internal and external applicants, of all levels and types of positions, including management.
  • Represent UPMC at external and internal functions (i.e., job fairs, UPMC sponsored events, etc.), provide the public with information about UPMC and career opportunities
  • Network with the existing professionals in these areas to find additional applicants.
  • Proactively build and create candidate pipelines; track individuals with these skill sets to network for future opportunities.
  • Strategize with operational, clinical and HR about sources and strategies to attract applicants for high need areas.
  • Identify and analyze turnover trends.
  • Develop the appropriate relationships with schools, members of professional organizations and community members that could be referral sources.
  • Assist with training for interview skills, sourcing and tracking candidates when needed.
  • Research new and creative cost-effective candidate sources for niche areas.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field and at least three years of recruitment experience required.
    • OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of recruitment experience required. 
  • Knowledge of the health care field preferred.
  • Experience with applicant tracking or HRIS systems required.
  • Experience designing and implementing models to find applicants for hard to fill positions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
