Description
Purpose:UPMC is actively onboarding Intermediate Full Stack .Net Software Engineers (DevOps) to contribute towards the modernization initiatives of Health Plan's Claims Systems built/maintained by the Core Systems IT Department.
Core Systems department provides IT solutions to UPMC Health Plan from Enrollment, Billing, and Claims Processing perspectives. While all these functions currently have been managed in the application called MC400 with RPG/DB2/iSeries/IBMi platform, Core Systems has started a long-term modernization initiative to ultimately transit into Windows/.Net/C#/Angular JS/SQL-No SQL/Cloud platform. We’re looking for Intermediate Software Engineers to continue to build and expand the team to work towards multiyear multiple modernization projects. The expectation is to work with other Software Engineers and Architects on both sides (IBMi and .Net/Cloud), other roles (BA, Scrum Master, PM, QA) within and across the IT departments as well as with Business Stakeholders in agile/DevOps framework.
An ideal .Net/Cloud candidate should be a self-starter, have a deep understanding of the technologies outlined in the preferences and be willing/capable to learn/share the industry best practices and address issues across multiple teams/technologies to build future centric business capabilities.

Qualifications
- Typically has 2+ years of related work experience.
- Experience with complex development environments, taking abstract concepts and ideas and formulating a detailed software deliverable
- Experience in developing on cross-functional systems
- Deep knowledge of programmingBasic understanding of the SDLC
- Highly driven and self-motivated to exceed expectations
- Ability to work independently and in a team based environment
- Proficient in both oral and written communication
Preferred Qualifications:
· Proven experience in .NET, C#, and Microsoft server-side technologies (2+ years)
· In-depth experience with AngularJS version 2-7, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, bootstrap (2+ years)
· Capable of designing and consuming REST APIs (2+ years)
· Strong experience with SQL Server and T-SQL (2+ years)
· Experience with source control systems such as TFS/VSTS (Azure DevOps), SVN, or Git
· Experience working in Agile/Scrum and Waterfall development methodology
· Ability to partner with cross-functional teams to deliver project goals
· Ability to design, optimize and refactor the code for improved performance
· Experience creating automated unit tests
· Deep understanding of the object-oriented concepts, design patterns, clean coding, code review practices
· Ability to deliver software that meets requirements within the timeline focusing on quality
· Experience working in a Project-based environment and following the SDLC process
Additional Preferences:
· Knowledge of .NET Core, Entity Framework Core
· ASP.NET WebAPI experience
· Microsoft Azure, AWS, or related cloud experience
· Non-RDBMS experience (Mark Logic, Mongo DB, etc.)
· Experience in Node.JS
· Prior Healthcare domain experience
