Description

Purpose:
Conduct accounting functions and reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.  This role offers exposure to analyzing and being responsible for Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Cash Flows.  In addition to accounting and reporting efforts, conduct and document complex financial analysis projects and convey results to our operational leaders to drive informed decision making.

This position offers great opportunities to grow professionally and expand network connections within the organization working on projects with various departments (ex: Corporate FP&A, IT, Marketing, HR) and executive leadership.  This is a great position for passionate candidates who are enthusiastic about using their finance leadership skills to make a difference in the world of health care. The ideal candidate would have strong interpersonal and technical skills. 

Responsibilities:

  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
  • Perform complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis of data reported.
  • Act as a mentor for Financial Analysts or administrative staff.
  • Analyze complex financial data and extract and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial probability.
  • Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
  • Plan and conduct complex studies to determine cost of business activities. Recommend budget adjustments, and other cost improvement measures.
  • Meet deadlines and turnaround times set by hospital management and department finance director &/or CFO (these deadlines and turnaround times will, at times, require the employee to work until the project is completed, meaning extended daily work hours, extended work weeks, or both).
  • Investigate variances and derive solutions to cost increases and quality issues
  • Experience with Power BI is preferred. 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field required.
  • Minimum of three years of related work experience required.
  • OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of related work experience.
  • Microsoft Office spreadsheet application required, and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPA/MBA preferred.
