About the Program
The Human Resources Summer Associates Program is an 11-week, paid internship. An internship in Human Resources at UPMC will give you experience engaging with some of the most important pieces of our business… our people!
Within the Human Resources Summer Associates Program, interns will be placed within different departments throughout the Human Resources team. These placements can include, but are not limited to:
- Recruitment
- Employee Relations
- HRIS
- Benefits
- Compensation
- Learning & Development
- Center for Engagement & Inclusion
- HR Innovation & Experience
During your internship program, you will have the opportunity to network with UPMC Executives, give back to the Pittsburgh Community through Summer Associate service events, receive mentorship, enhance your skills with hands-on real-world experience and training, and most importantly, work on projects that make an impact on patient care while gaining knowledge on how we provide Life Changing Medicine. And have a little bit of fun too!

Qualifications
- Current Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree preferred
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
- Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated leadership ability through their studies, employment, or extracurricular activities
- Availability to participate in the Summer Associates Program full-time from June to August 2023 for approximately 11 weeks with minimal absence

Recruitment Timeline Expectations*
- August 30th – October 31st: Application Open
- Early October– Early November: Video Interviews Conducted
- Mid – Late November: Notification of Selection for Final Interviews & In-Person Final Interviews Conducted
