Implementation Manager, eBenefits

Description

UPMC and Workpartners has an exciting opportunity for a Implementation Manager, eBenefits. This is a Monday through Friday daylight role (regular, full-time) with hybrid work arrangements (in office 1-2 days/week).

The Implementation Manager will lead client implementation of benefits administration services that utilize internal and partner capabilities to provide eligibility and enrollment, decision support, reporting, billing, ACA compliance, COBRA compliance, dependent verification, and other related services. The Manager will work with clients, external partners, and internal stakeholders to deliver agreed upon services on the required schedule. The Manager will work effectively with clients, account management, benefit administration operations, customer service, sales, EDI, brokers, carriers, partners, and other Workpartners lines of businesses. The Manager will lead and manage a support team.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a liaison between clients and internal partners to ensure timely delivery of agreed upon services. Utilizes the documented Six Sigma process and project management tools.
  • Gathers client requirements for new implementations and change requests. Collaborates with Operations Team to identify solutions that will meet customer requirements using system functionality and best practices.
  • Completes Requirements Discovery Documents in collaboration with Account Management and with the support of Benefits Administration Operations. Provides implementation reporting summaries at the client level and summary level.
  • Reviews and facilitates approval of change orders. Provides change order implementation plans and timelines.
  • Assists in OE planning and expectation setting. Engages with Sales in new client during implementation, Kick off meetings, (transition from Sales to Implementation)
  • Ensures completion of the implementation phase and transitions client to account management for ongoing relationship management/maintenance. Leads team to achieve Implementation, Line of Business, and Workpartners objectives.
  • Helps team members learn and grow.
  • Provides recommendations on process improvements and implements approved changes.
  • Promotes professional development of staff to maintain competency and compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate policy.
  • Provides training to staff to ensure that all programs are administered under legal, regulatory and client corporate policies.
  • Maintains a positive work environment that supports high performing teams and rewards people based on performance.
  • Coordinates with non-directly report Workpartners staff, stakeholders, and contributors to facilitate learning, growth, and teamwork.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors performance indicators for staff. Provides feedback, training and corrective action as needed.
  • Performs all leadership duties in accordance with UPMC, Insurance Services Division, Workpartners and eBenefits competencies/behaviors.
  • Monitors time, attendance, and performance of direct reporting staff.
  • Assists with the preparation of communications, training and resource materials for staff and clients. Monitors cost containment and quality standards consistent with Workpartners goals and budgets.
  • Prepares and presents operational performance and staff reports to management.
  • Supports benefits administration and Workpartners priorities, goals, and deadlines through personal and team contributions.
  • Keeps Vice President informed of business and staff status, escalations, ongoing operations, and team.
  • Assists the VP in forecasting staffing needs and recommending administrative efficiency strategies.
  • Participates in the development and submission of new business proposals, client training seminars, and marketing projects as well as participate directly in customer service calls with Workpartners' staff as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required (A degree in business, science, health informatics or IT is preferred), and an MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in project management, implementation, human resources or in related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years' of management experience is required.
  • Excellent active listening skills, superior oral and written communication skills, excellent time management and organizational skills, exceptional problem solving/analytical skills are required.
  • Must exhibits a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to learn new skills and assimilate new knowledge quickly
  • Competent in all MS Office products (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Must be an effective influencer and leader of people to achieve stated goals.
