UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Carlisle Urology is looking to add a Registered Nurse, RN, to join their growing practice. You will join 1 Surgeon and 2 CRNP's who are fantastic teachers in their specialty, and open to hearing new ideas to create the best team environment. Urology is a great outpatient specialty, which allows for the perfect work/life balance, as well as the ability to use your nursing skills and continue to be challenged on a daily basis.

HOURS: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm. NO EVENINGS. NO WEEKENDS. NO HOLIDAYS. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversite of all clinical staff
  • Clinical Duties as needed including BCG Treatments (Immunotherapy within the bladder via catheter)
  • Managing all patient messages i.e. Medication refills
  • Telephone triage for all acute issues and schedule with physician if needed
  • Completing post-op patient check-ins
  • Review all clinical staff education as needed
  • Support the development of students, new staff and colleagues.
  • Triages patient situations and coordinates care with physician.
  • Assist physician with all aspects of patient care including assessment, evaluation and education.
  • Actively participates in department or practice-specific quality improvement efforts.
  • Takes personal responsibility in improving patient satisfaction with the quality of care and service.
  • Utilizes research and evidence-based practice to support improvement in clinical care
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.
  • Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment
  • Good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of adult learning principles (and/or teaching children if applicable) and applies in teaching of patients, families, students and new staff.
  • Provide detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them through the episode of care both in the office setting and via phone/written communication when at home.
  • Practices solid communication skills
  • Patient documentation is comprehensive and promotes communication between caregivers.
  • Serves as a highly engaged and full partner on the care team and responds willingly to care team member needs for assistance and partnership.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of cultural differences and holds peers accountable for healthy relationships.
  • Maintains a conscious balance between work and personal life.
  • Models safe work hours, time management and healthy lifestyle.
  • Communicates with peers and management any safety hazards identified in the workplace.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months experience preferred.
  • BSN preferred, but not required
  • New graduates welcome to apply

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state.
  • CPR Certification, UPMC approved national certification preferred
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

All new hire clearances must be dated within 90 days of hire

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) OR Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
