COVID-19 Vaccination Information

Across UPMC, our guiding principle is to always prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and members. UPMC believes that vaccination is important, helps protect all, and advocates that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.

UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Retail Host

Description

Purpose:
Responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction with food service utilizing customer service skills. Delivers and serves nutritionally-appropriate and attractive meals in a timely manner. Practices appropriate food handling techniques and food safety procedures in all aspects of job.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates customer complaints and concerns effectively with other team members.
  • Displays customer service skills when responding to meal service requests, resulting in a satisfied customer.
  • Complete any closing side work assigned.
  • Performs sanitation for assigned work area in accordance with departmental procedures and health department guidelines.
  • Adheres to department procedures regarding the operation of all food service equipment.
  • Clear tables of dishes and other used items.
  • Expedite food items and service customers.
  • Serves meals within established timeframes, adhering to departmental standards for appearance, food quality, and temperature control.
  • Receive and place food orders from customers when applicable.
  • Clean, stock and maintain service station and all service areas where applicable.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and proficiency with the Culture of Service model.
  • Adheres to hand hygiene and infection control procedures on a consistent basis when interacting with customers.
  • Engages guests using the designated department script, to include proper greeting, eye contact and smiling.

 

Qualifications

  • Diploma/GED, OR 1 year previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED.
  • Excellent Customer Service experience preferred.
  • Work permit required if under 18 years old.
