UPMC Health Plan is seeking a full-time Product Manager to support the Marketing and Communications Department of the UPMC Insurance Services Division!

The Product Manager will work standard daylight hours, Monday through Friday! This role can work fully remote, or a hybrid option of working from home and from the U.S. Steel Tower office in downtown Pittsburgh!

The Product Manager will be responsible for Email Strategy, working closely with senior members within Marketing and IT to develop and deploy digital engagement marketing programs, devise platform strategy and roadmap, and establish and improve processes. They will be a key member of the Digital Marketing team, focused on data and tech-driven approaches to evolve marketing capabilities! In addition to managing and implementing products and programs, the Product Manager will educate and train key department personnel, as well as interface with colleagues/partners throughout the UPMC Health System. 

Our team is seeking an experienced digital marketer with strong technical experience, including use of email marketing and digital engagement platforms, as well as HTML and CSS. The ideal candidate will have proven Salesforce product knowledge and play a critical role in transitioning and onboarding Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Industry knowledge is preferred, as is the ability to lead team members through deliverables, business impact, and business requirements. 


  • Assist Email Marketing team in ongoing strategy development, deployments, and design system rollouts.
  • Establish and lead key deliverables and business requirements for email and digital engagement platforms.
  • Act as point of contact to process support tickets, including troubleshooting, system issues, and dashboards.
    • Provide general user assistance.  
  • Conduct ongoing audits with various teams to ensure accuracy of content, data, reporting, deliverability, and more.
  • QA test digital media to ensure content accuracy, full functionality, and user experience.
  • Coordinate cost-benefit analysis on proposed initiatives.
  • Consistently strive to ensure product regulatory compliance with all products.
  • Train and educate key departmental personnel impacted by the new products and programs.
  • Perform analysis and report on product financials, product cost trends, and key performance indicators.
  • Communicate effectively all issues that impact daily and ongoing operations.
  • Research, analyze, and report on competitive information and the changing marketplace.
  • Communicate all programs to Marketing Staff to ensure programs are understood and marketed to potential and current members.
  • Work with different functional areas within Health Plan to create, implement, and monitor new products and programs.
  • Evaluate the impact new Federal and State mandates have on new and existing products.
  • Participate on committees that impact/pertain to product development.
  • Input on group contract write-ups and initiatives.
  • Attend continuous education classes to increase knowledge in the health care industry.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize projects appropriately.
  • Demonstrate service-oriented behavior in interactions with clients and co-workers.



  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 3 years of experience in insurance, medical environment, marketing, digital marketing, or relevant product management experience.
  • One to three years of experience as a digital product owner, specifically working with email, preferred.
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience strongly preferred. 
    • Journey builder, email studio, content builder, audience builder, and analytics builder or similar platform experience preferred.
  • HTML and/or CSS experience preferred.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work with various levels of staff throughout the corporation.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to supervise and direct projects, as needed.
  • Team player.
