UPMC Jameson is currently looking for a Full Time Supervisor Home Nurse Visitor to support our Children's Advocacy Center. The Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) of Lawrence County is a multi-purpose, kid- and family-friendly, private nonprofit agency. The CAC strives to stop child abuse through intervention, prevention, education, and community outreach. This position will primarily be Monday- Friday during the day.


Nurse-Family Partnership is a research-based program that has been demonstrated to significantly improve critical outcomes for at-risk women and their children who receive services in local communities as specified in the Nurse-Family Partnership Visit-to-Visit Guidelines. One primary purpose of the nurse supervisor role is to work within the local community and lead agency structure to assure that the program is implemented in accordance with established Nurse-Family Partnership Visit-to-Visit Guidelines and contract requirements. Another primary purpose of the nurse supervisor is using principles of supervision, reflective practice, and staff development, to provide primary support and appropriate oversight to nurse home visitors, and to build and model a strengths-based, client-centered culture.


  • Based on agency policy, actively participate in, chair, or coordinate all NFP community coalition/advisory board meetings. Develop and maintain community referral sources for the NFP Program. Develop and implement external and internal systems to assure timely receipt and disposition of referrals to and from the NFP.
  • Plan and expend budget to ensure compliance with fidelity to the Nurse-Family Partnership model and contract agreements. Understand and actively participate in monitoring the Nurse-Family Partnership contract with the agency. Be proactive with local, state, and national issues that may affect sustainability of program.
  • Manage organizational structure and systems adequately so that nurse home visitors may stay focused on clients. Oversee and ensure timely and accurate data input and utilization of the web-based ETO reports and other reports available through Nurse-Family Partnership.Read and interpret ETO reports; share appropriately with team and partners.
  • Provide useful developmental feedback, and manage a plan with staff to address performance and resolve issues. Provide supervision and evaluation of Nurse-Family Partnership nurse home visitors and administrative, data, and support staff. Become familiar with and actively participate in the preparation and monitoring of the Nurse-Family Partnership budget to ensure appropriate use of funds.
  • Evaluate implementing agency outcomes and interventions Ensure that supervision of nurse home visitors utilizes principles and concepts of motivational interviewing, coaching, and reflective practice (modeling therapeutic relationships, change theory, self-efficacy, client-centered, strength based, and solution focused approaches). Provide regular case conferences and team meetings as recommended by Nurse-Family Partnership.
  • Oversee the recruitment and hiring of all nurse home visitors and administrative data support staff ensuring that they can implement the Nurse-Family Partnership philosophy and model. Assess and develop strategies to address knowledge and skill gaps of home visitors and support staff. Assign client caseloads and monitor home visitor?s ability to build and manage caseload.



  • RN required
  • 3 years of experience in public/community health, including home visitation as well as maternal/child health services, particularly in community setting required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or closely related field preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Registered NurseCardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • Driver's License
  • Proof of valid car insurance
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
