UPMC Health Plan is seeking a full-time Campaign Strategist to support the Marketing and Communications Department within the UPMC Insurance Services Division!

This role will have a flexible, hybrid work arrangement, with the Campaign Strategist primarily working remotely! There will be approximately 1-2 days per week in the U.S. Steel Tower office in Downtown Pittsburgh. This position will work daylight hours, Monday through Friday!

The Campaign Strategist is responsible for planning and executing integrated marketing campaigns that support sales and retention goals, enhance member and provider experience and satisfaction, and build brand recognition. This position will collaborate with colleagues within Marketing & Communications, Creative Services, Sales, third-party affiliates, and other lines of business to oversee campaigns that meet goals and objectives. 

The primary responsibilities of the Campaign Strategist will be focused on developing, executing, and monitoring campaign planning, implementation, and evaluation processes. This includes, but is not limited to, developing Open Enrollment materials, webinar creation, presentations, and campaign-level strategies and tactical execution plans that drive acquisition, retention, and welcome campaigns. Additionally, the Campaign Strategist will develop campaigns focused on provider and/or member education and engaging new members on benefit plan designs, new member outreach, health and wellness engagement activity, closing gaps in care, and updates in the utilization of tools and technologies.



  • Provide feedback and data analytics to support and enhance market strategy and direction.
  • Unify market strategy recommendations and implementation plans into a cohesive creative brief that internal marketing and/or external creative resources can execute against.
  • Continually monitor and analyze campaigns through a global marketing database and CRM system to maximize ROI and make recommendations on changes needed.
  • Build and manage campaign calendar and deliverables along the marketing value chain of attract, convert, welcome, engage, and retain.
  • Coordinate campaign deadlines and resource requirements of writing, creative services, and communications governance.
  • Ensure coordination and clear communication among constituents throughout the course of the campaign.
  • Identify and detail appropriate marketing channels/tactics that drive sales and generate brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with third-party affiliates on the development and delivery of marketing collateral and digital communications.
  • Create and execute strategic tactical campaign plans that support acquisition, sales conversion, education, member engagement and retention, drive demand, and support revenue and business goals.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or related field.
  • 3 years of marketing, marketing communications, or public relations experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare market.
  • Results-oriented and demonstrated success in overcoming obstacles and launching campaigns on time and on budget.
  • Proven experience and demonstrable results in execution and measuring marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to build consensus among various colleagues and works well as a team member.
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Online/social marketing knowledge.
