Description

UPMC and Community Care Behavioral Health (CCBH) have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Special Projects. This is a Monday through Friday daylight role (regular, full-time) with hybrid work arrangements (approximately 40% in office and community and 60% from home). 

The Manager, Special Projects is responsible for managing all new and ongoing projects as determined by the Allegheny HealthChoices Program leadership and the Coummunity Care senior management team. This person will coordinate multiple projects at once while combining clinical and non-clinical data.  The Special Projects Manager will offer project management support for Allegheny HealthChoices Program initiatives required by the state and county, including Value Based Purchasing, HealthChoices Reinvestment, County Priority Projects, annual contract Performance Measures, and other Contractual Compliance activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely and collaboratively with internal multidisciplinary team for the Allegheny HealthChoices Program and the Allegheny County Department of Human Services.
  • Ensure all applicable NCQA, URAC, DHS and other regulatory standards are met.
  • Lead efforts for  assigned project development and implementation.
  • Communicate information about identified projects to other members of the organization through meetings, training, and educational forums.
  • Assist with training responsibilities for providers, members, and staff on identified issues.
  • Coordinate collection and completion of all necessary projects materials.
  • Provide support services to Allegheny Regional Director, Allegheny Programs Team, and Community Care departments as indicated for Allegheny HealthChoices contract.
  • Inform Regional Director, Allegheny Programs Team and senior management of items that are completed and pending.
  • Responsible for closely monitoring the organization's progress toward the project goals and identifying areas where progress and lack of progress is occurring.
  • Assist the Regional  Director and other Community Care staff in developing action plans to continually improve the overall performance of the Program.
  • Participate in the outcome measurement activities of the organization; communicate with stakeholders regarding the specific outcome initiatives.
  • Assist the Regional Director in maintaining a very active organizational presence in the community by attending various community-based meetings with providers, consumer and/or family groups, county representatives, and advocacy groups.
  • Share feedback from stakeholder groups with the Regional Director and Allegheny Programs Team; assist in the development of plans to address any identified concerns; monitor that necessary internal follow-up is completed.
  • Assist with the preparation of written organizational responses to requests from the County, AHCI or other stakeholder groups as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or RN license. Master's degree preferred.
  • 4 years of operations and/or clinical experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience with Quality and/or operations activities.
  • Experience in managed care preferred.
  • Experience in project management preferred. 
  • Ability to maintain effective professional liaison with all levels of executive and management staff.
  • Excellent clinical, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Independent problem solving based on sophisticated knowledge of relevant monitoring standards and clinically pertinent issues related to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the identified projects.
  • Ability to propose and implement creative solutions to identified trends or problem areas with recommendations for improvement.
  • Responsiveness to deadlines and has work completed on or before deadline 95% of the time.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of identified projects.

  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
