UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is currently hiring a Project Manager, ONC to support the new Rush to Crush Cancer cycling event.  This is a new community-based event that will impact cancer research and improve lives. It’s not a race but rather a ride bringing people together to pedal, partner, and participate to help raise critical funds for UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, a leader in cancer research and patient care.

This position supports the Executive Director of Rush to Crush Cancer and serves as a resource to Rush to Crush Cancer through analysis and evaluation of business planning, operations, and processes. Evaluates plans and processes, directs special projects, and analyzes productivity and other statistics. In addition to the Director, the incumbent works collaboratively with UPMC Hillman Cancer Center leadership and P3R, the event operational partner.


  • Manage projects that impact the operations of Rush to Crush Cancer and advance the event's goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for achieving results within specified timeframes.
  • Collaborate with Rush to Crush Cancer leadership, Hillman Cancer Center leadership, and P3R team to strengthen and enhance event efforts and strategic/business planning.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing projects related to event planning, operational coordination, marketing and communications,
  • Monitor and improve event participation and overall operational spending.
  • Act as a point person for events that make up ride weekend.
  • Facilitate website changes through Prismic to ensure online information is accurate and comprehensive for event audience.
  • Promote operational consistency across Rush to Crush Cancer, Hillman Cancer Center, and P3R.
  • Serve as a resource in the development of budgets and variance analysis.
  • Assist to ensure compliance with institutional policy and regulatory standards; develop action plans to address deficiencies and resolve identified problems.
  • Identify opportunities for enhanced operations and/or services and suggests appropriate action.
  • With the Executive Director, collaboratively review operating results compared to established objectives, ensuring appropriate steps are taken to correct variances.
  • Represent Rush to Crush Cancer at endurance focused events, and other communtiy gatherings to help promote its overall mission and goal.



  • A Masters's Degree in business or a related field with at least three (3) years of management experience


  • A Bachelor's degree in Management or a related field and five (5) years of management experience 


  • Experience in service delivery and program development is desirable.
  • The ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously is essential.
