COVID-19 Vaccination Information

Across UPMC, our guiding principle is to always prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and members. UPMC believes that vaccination is important, helps protect all, and advocates that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.

UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Grounds/Building Group Leader (Local 95 Union)

Description

*Operates under Local 95 Union*

This position will occasionally travel to Passavant Cranberry location

Maintain grounds, trim hedges, place mulch in beds, plant trees, shrubs and water gardens. Operate tractors, trimmers, weed wackers also supervise summer ground's help.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee snow removal operation and contractor response.
  • Demonstrate teamwork with outside garden clubs and Hospital foundation in maintaining the beautification programs.
  • Oversee summer grounds crew and assign specific daily tasks.
  • Attend relevant seminars to improve and maintain effectiveness of the position.
  • Promote patient safety.
  • Establish work schedules for routine and special assignments for the landscaping of the campus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Degree in Horticulture or similar field preferred.
  • Supervisory training/experience required.
  • 5 years experience in a landscaping field preferred..
  • May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored.
  • No contact with medications is allowed.
