Research Coord | Department of the Academic Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Description

This is a Research Coord position within the department of the Academic Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The goal of the department is to develop effective assessments, prevention, and treatments of depressed and suicidal adolescents. The position involves assisting the Program Director and staff with the daily work-flow of the research department implementing multiple complex studies and acting as administrative support to the department and Academic Chief.

This position is grant funded.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Academic Chief
  • Compose and distribute correspondence independently and as directed by the Academic Chief
  • Prepare extensive travel logistics for the Academic Chief
  • Prepare manuscripts, manage and organize references, collate conflict of interest information, and submit manuscripts on behalf of the Academic Chief
  • Assist Program Director with departmental tasks as assigned
  • Attend educational seminars to advance knowledge in research coordination
  • Develop regular conflict of interest (COIs) documents for manuscripts and University disclosures, update medical licenses, communicate CMEs and ECUs status and report to university, develop annual Dean’s report and drafts of faculty evaluations.
  • Coordinate all supplies, forms and records with project sponsor, regulatory agencies, and local research study needs at Bellefield Towers within Western Psychiatry Hospital (WPH).
  • Purchase all necessary departmental supplies and services to conduct research studies and day to day departmental business.
  • Maintain purchasing and budgeting tracking system in coordination with Program Director to conduct departmental budget reviews on regular basis.
  • Maintain records of all research storage and communications with the storage facility
  • Responsible for collecting, entering, and managing all staff members’ timesheets in KRONOS
  • Hire and supervise departmental student workers
  • Act as administrative resource to all staff in department
  • Recruit participants, conduct study visits, and follow subjects through study completion specifically on the ETUDES Center Engagement groups project
  • Develop and manage system for tracking recruitment efforts and communication with subjects
  • Maintain research records and data including responsibility for communications via mail, email, fax, phone with project sponsor, all regulatory agencies, and principal investigators
  • Assist with laboratory packing, shipping, and ordering.
  • Manage the participant payment system including assuring efficiency, effective tracking, and confidentiality
  • Reimburse subjects for study participation
  • Responsible for project documentation and audit-related activities including creation of regulatory CREST binders.
  • Maintain compliance with IRB regulations and development of draft IRB forms and protocols
  • Enter and clean electronic clinical data for various research projects within the department
  • Provide support in the preparation of annual study progress reports as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Psychology, Neuroscience, Sociology or related research field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
  • IRB experience preferred.
  • EndNote or similar reference citation software experience.
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Office Products).
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately collect, and store research data.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with patients, staff, and investigators as well as maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and must be able to work a flexible schedule based on study needs.
  • Ability to accurately collect, and store research data.
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
  • Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.

  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
