Description
Purpose:
Plan, develop, and direct the operations of the Transplant, Oncology, Bone Marrow, and Neuro Diagnostics departments consistent with the values, mission, and strategic plan of Children's Hospital to ensure quality, service and financial outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the organization?s Patient Safety Plan, goals and fulfills patient safety objectives. Adhere to the national patient safety goals by planning, directing, and monitoring implementation aspects related to those goals. Adhere to reporting elements and requirements set forth by all regulatory agencies for patient safety.
- Develop a service center strategic plan that is consistent with, and incorporated into, the Hospital?s strategic plan. Develop an annual operating plan, operating budget, and capital budget, which support the service center strategic plan and address market needs.
- Develop internal and external customer relations in accordance with the philosophy of family-centered care. Identify customer needs and develop systems to monitor satisfaction and to responsively address problem areas.
- Continuously assess the operational processes to improve efficiency of individual patient or episode of care, and service center/department operations.
- Responsible for identification of revenue enhancement opportunities for the division.
- Maintain a focus on customer relations, both internal and external, in accordance with the philosophy of family-centered care. Assist lead personnel and division chiefs to develop and implement action plans to meet identified customer needs and achieve programmatic goals.
- Establish in collaboration with medical staff and managers, quality and service standards for the service center. Ensure that standards are maintained and that operating plans are implemented and monitored to ensure integration and efficiency within hospital system.
- Mentor lead personnel and support the professional growth of all levels of management staff.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- BSN required at time of hire or transfer into position.
- Masters degree in Nursing or related health care field required, either at time of hire/transfer, or must be enrolled in a program within one year of hire/transfer date and completed within three years of enrollment. (i.e. public health, informational technology, administration, etc.)
- Knowledge of clinical practice human resource management normally gained through a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in health care including supervision and leadership.
- Analytical ability necessary to evaluate staff, address and improve clinical and programmatic issues and devise solutions to complex problems.
- Leadership ability to develop staff, establish and maintain standards of performance within a national context for professional nursing practice and comply with administrative requirements.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to effectively create relationships to support a healing environment with patients, families, staff, physicians and hospital personnel including senior management in both written and verbal communication.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
